Workshops

Ashiana Network delivers workshops for young adults at local colleges with a view to raise awareness about domestic violence. We aim to both challenge attitudes towards domestic violence and empower young people so they are able to seek support and advice if they are at risk of domestic violence.

We also provide educational workshops for local community groups in order to raise awareness and improve access to service provision for domestic violence survivors. We cover topics such as basic domestic violence, forced marriage, honour based violence, cultural awareness. In recent evaluations carried out 95% of the participants stated that the workshops had improved their understanding of domestic violence.

“The teacher gave us a chance to give our opinion.  She listened to what I had to say.  That was good.  Not a lot of people do that.  My friend is having these problems at home and now I know that she can get help.  It’s all cool.”
